Used Forklifts mean BIG Discounts!

If it is your business to lift heavy objects that only a sturdy piece of machinery can handle, then you know of the myriad of forklift designs. There are roughly fifteen different types of forklifts and five types of power for them. New forklifts range from four thousand dollars and upwards to over ten grand. However, used forklifts are where it's at and the internet provided numerous deals on them.

The five types of forklift power are gas, propane, diesel, compressed natural gas, and electricity. Gas and diesel forklifts are normally reserved for rough terrain outdoor jobs. They're main difference is that they have pneumatic tires so they can handle uneven ground and anything else one may encounter. The power sources for these used forklifts range. Gas is generally higher than it is for diesel. However, these forklifts can lift upwards of 35,000 pounds so they have a definite advantage.

Propane and electric power sources are typically for indoor forklifts, often called either electric or narrow aisle forklifts. However, some rough terrain forklifts do require propane as well. Of course, electric forklifts are best for indoor jobs in warehouses and such because they have no emissions. Propane may be used indoors but only with good ventilation. If you are looking for a used forklift for a warehouse then electric might be the way to go. They can lift between 10,000 and 15,000 pounds and are very quiet, perfect for indoor use. However, they run on batteries similar to cars and it takes 16 hours for the battery to charge and cool between runs.

The pricing is, of course, different for these types of used forklifts. You might be able to locate a used diesel side shifting forklift, with a heated cab, for as much as seventeen thousand on a used forklift site. But that would be a heavy duty forklift with all the bells and whistles. Electric forklifts run a lot cheaper but will still cost you a few thousand to get the quality you seek. Propane run slightly higher than electric but less than diesel and then, of course, gasoline used forklifts will be the most expensive. The website, www.eliftruck.com has a very large listing of used forklifts in any condition with all of the different power sources.
